Nails and Medical Problems
Brittle nails are typically a cosmetic problem. Admittedly they can certainly be difficult to deal with from a psychological and emotional perspective. However, there are some nail abnormalities that are indicative of more serious underlying medical problems. Some of these can also be caused by drug therapy adverse reactions or a deficiency/excess of a particular nutritional element (e,g. iron). As such, the physical nature or the look of an individual's nails can sometimes be quite telling. In other words, nails can often provide signs or clues about your health. You should consult a healthcare professional if you notice any of the following signs. Please bookmark with social media, your votes are noticed and appreciated |
